Well, then there is also something
like the person behind the violin maker Eduard Wemelsfelder.
Somebody who does his best to give his life form by
undertaking meaningful and joyful activities.
I have a wonderful profession and it is a privilege
to be able to immerse myself in it every day.
In my holidays I am usually climbing in the Alps, sailing
with friends on one or other European water or camping
with my dog in the Netherlands. In my daily life I
regularly play the violin in an amateur orchestra,
perform a Bach Cantata twice a year or the St John's
Passion in an ad hoc orchestra.
On Sundays, when I let my dog out, I like to eat a
pancake in a cosy restaurant in the woods.
Friends I meet up with in all sorts of different situations.
An evening visit or some foreign friends staying at
my place for a few days.
During nice weather you will not find me at home....
A long weekend abroad with friends sometimes occurs.
A subscription to the Quartet series at the Concertgebouw
in Amsterdam is one of the yearly recurring musical
highlights.
And apart from that.... working a lot in a wonderful
surrounding. A profession and a life that are closely
linked and continuously give me the opportunity to
absorb and enjoy myself in many fields.
