| In
the workshop new making and restoration give each other
form.
Making new instruments helps you understand the creation
of old instruments better.
Restoration forms your understanding and style for
making new instruments.
Making instruments ready to play is essential for
the musician. In restoration, repair and in making
new instruments. It determines the first contact a
player has with his instrument.
In my work I assume that I can only achieve quality
if my tools do what I have in mind.
When I use a chisel, whether it is to give form to
a new violin or for repair, then I can only get beautiful
lines and shapes if the chisel is razor-sharp and I
can guide it.
It is razor-sharp if I know how to make it razor-sharp
and also if the quality of the steel is such to permit
this and retain it.
In my profession I have chosen chisels that can do
this.
Similarly, the musician can only
achieve what he has in mind if the instruments co-operates
in all
respects.
You can choose if you allow yourself this.
You and the listener feel and hear that.
Optimalizing the qualities of an instrument is the
result of a long and professional training, knowledge
and technique, learnt and handed over in prestigious
workshops.
I made this choice. And in my work I assume you have
also done this.
Eduard Wemelsfelder offers you the
opportunity to find an instrument that suits you and
fulfils your
expectations and wishes. Whether you are an enthusiastic
amateur or a performing professional.
In addition to the possibility of a new instrument
there is also a selection of older instruments and
several study instruments.
